Lawrence is a novelist, adventurer, astronomer, and performer on the Medieval lute. He attended The Ohio State University where he received a B.A. in English Literature with an emphasis on creative writing. His studies included Honors history, ancient languages, early music and astronomy. His precise depictions of swordplay in his novels come from his years of fencing in High School and with The Ohio State University.

After finishing school, he lived for a short time in Istanbul, Turkey where he explored ancient ruins and developed an interest in the astronomy of ancient civilizations. He has since traveled widely and explored ruins in Central America as well. More recently, he earned his certification for scuba diving to extend his exploration under the seas. When not writing, he builds and plays copies of ancient musical instruments, and also builds and uses his own telescopes.

The Colors of Fire takes place in 1180 B.C. and is the first novel in a series that spans 3000 years. Of Princes and Kings takes place in the 12th century, and Flare takes place in the 21st century. The Colors of Fire and Flare are available on Amazon and Of Princes and Kings will be available early this year.

The Trilogy

I conceived of the three novels as a series of science-based thrillers, derived from historical events. You may read more about it on the books page.
